cropped-edesialogoheader.gifThrough innovative manufacturing, Edesia — based in Providence, Rhode Island — aims to reduce the alarmingly high rates of childhood malnutrition in developing countries worldwide.

Founded as a non-profit in 2009, Edesia produces over 8,500 metric tons of peanut-based, ready-to-use therapeutic and supplementary foods each year for large humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF, the World Food Programme (WFP), and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

With a current staff of 73 employees — hailing from 23 countries of origin — Edesia’s efforts have helped treat and prevent malnutrition for nearly 3 million children in over 46 countries.

In 2015, Edesia won the Providence Business News Manufacturing Award for “Workplace Development and Productivity.”
